Latin America
fLAMES OF REVOLUTION - latin america
As with much of the world, revolutionary fever took hold throughout Latin America, where many countries remained under the grip of dictatorship. For the better part of several decades, governments continually shifted with the United States and USSR throwing their weight behind friendly regimes. From the violent revolution in Cuba to the ensuing civil war in the Dominican Republic, thousands of people found themselves caught in-between warring political ideologies, which more often than not, only brought further hardship and oppression in the name of security.
