UN FORCES IN KOREA
indomitable courage - united states of america
The North Korean violation of South Korea's sovereignty was not something the United States could allow, the nation quickly joining the conflict in 1950. Thousands of regular army soldiers were rushed from their stations into a hasty defense of the beleaguered nation. These early manpower struggles would be corrected as National Guard formations were brought over and the draft reimplemented. From the spirited defense of Pusan to the struggle at frozen Chosin, American soldiers proved their bravery and tenacity, saving South Korea from an eternal fate of oppression.
nO GREATER ALLY - CANADA
UN resolution 82 committed the new organization to come to the aid of South Korea, Canada, being among the nations to answer this call. Eager volunteers from across the nation filled the ranks and began rotating to Korea, eventually forming an entire Brigade. Their ferocity in combat was often noted and they proved themselves a great ally to their partner forces in the region. Infamous battles such as Kapyong and Hill 355 cemented the legacy of the Canadian soldier as a formidable opponent.
